Verliebt, verrückt, verheiratet – Eine wahrlich skurrile Geschichte
Es heißt ja Gegensätze ziehen sich an, ich vertrete auch durchaus die Meinung, dass nach Ebbe in der Regel die Flut folgt, aber in Sachen Liebe hatte ich da ehrlich gesagt immer ein wenig Bedenken, ob sich diese Binsenweisheit auch auf das Leben übertragen lässt. Ich bin der Sache mal ein wenig auf den Grund gegangen, weil ich es mir einfach nicht vorstellen kann, dass es Beziehungen zwischen Sportskanonen und Aktivitätsmuffeln, Partyeulen und Stubenhockern oder Schalke- und Dortmund-Fans geben kann. Nachdem ich in der Vergangenheit bereits ein Werk von Susan Elizabeth Phillips gelesen hatte, hörte ich, dass sie ein weiteres geschrieben hatte, was im Grunde genau diese Thematik im Lesestoff verarbeiten soll. Also ging ich auf die Suche und fand “Verliebt, verrückt, verheiratet”.
Molly Somerville hatte es sicherlich nicht leicht im Leben, zu hoch war die Präsenz ihrer hübschen und zudem noch sehr erfolgreichen Schwester Phoebe, noch größer ihr Schatten, in dem sich Molly stets wiederfand. Mit mittlerweile 27 Jahren hat sie sich aber ein eigenes Leben aufbauen können, eines, in dem sie selbst die Verantwortung trägt und in dem ganz allein sie im Fokus steht. Charakterisierend für dieses eigene Leben sind Mollys kleiner Pudel, ihr stets unaufgeräumtes Loft und der tägliche Wunsch, eine erfolgreiche Kinderbuchautorin zu werden. Alles geht seinen normalen Gang, bis der Footballstar Kevin Tucker in ihr Leben tritt und alles komplett aus dem Gleichgewicht bringt. Kevin hasst Pudel, steht auf Statussymbole wie seinen Ferrari und verkörpert nicht gerade das, was sich Molly unter einem Mann vorstellt. Das Problem ist nur, dass er verdammt attraktiv aussieht und ihre Hormone im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes ein wenig durch die Gegend tanzen lässt.
