Noch mehr über das Leben einer Frau in der Großstadt
Letzte Woche habe ich Ihnen bereits einen Roman von Kultautorin Linda Francis Lee ans Herz gelegt. Sie werden sich ganz sicher fragen, warum ich das eine Woche später erneut mache. Fans von Lee werden es verstehen, sie schreibt einfach verdammt gut und einfach mal kurz ein Werk lesen, das geht nicht. Man muss sich schon alle unter die Augen führen, wenn man nicht vor Spannung sterben möchte. Das ist letztlich genauso, wie wenn Sie bei der Trilogie der „Herr der Ringe“-Saga nach „Die Zwei Türme“ meinen, es würde reichen. Geben Sie es zu, wenn man den ersten Teil von „Twilight“ gelesen hat, ist es nicht möglich, die anderen im Buchregal stehen zu lassen!
Was ich bei Lee besonders spannend finde und warum ich der Meinung bin, sie sei „Sex and the City“ überlegen, ist, dass sie ihre Werke immer aus der Sicht einer anderen der drei Freundinnen Kate, Julia und Chloe schreibt. Hier wird nicht klar, wer von den Dreien die Ikone ist, wie sie Carrie im aktuellen Kinofilm verkörpert. Dieses Mal ist es Julia, die mit Kerlen wirklich nicht als Ärger hat. Sie ist überzeugt davon, dass ihr Neuer in „Einfach Verliebt!“ noch nie wirklich ehrlich gearbeitet hat. Tatsächlich ist Ben Prescott aber Undercover-Polizist, was Julia auch bald erfahren soll. Bis es soweit ist, flucht und weint sie, bittet Kate und Chloe um helfende Worte und macht das, was sie bisher immer tat, unglücklich verliebt sein.
