Als ihr eigener 50. Geburtstag naht und sie die Party selbst organisieren muss, merkt sie plötzlich, dass sie genug von diesem Leben hat. Sie möchte nicht länger die perfekte Gastgeberin und Vorzeigefrau sein. Als wäre das noch nicht genug, stellt man ihr in ihrer Kochsendung eine Ex-Miss Spanien, Carmen Vega, zur Seite. Die Programmchefs erhoffen sich dadurch einen Quotensprung. Doch Carmen hat es in sich, sie ist ebenso hinterhältig wie sie schön ist. Gus reagiert darauf, sie will keineswegs das Handtuch schmeissen, sonder kocht in ihrer neuen Sendung, als würde es um ihr Leben gehen.
Wenn Frauen kochen ist ein spritziger, humorvoller Frauenroman von Kate Jacobs. Die Story ist flüssig geschrieben und liest sich leicht, ein Buch zum mitlachen. Empfehlenswert!
