Die Moderatorin Kim Lange hat alles, wovon sie schon immer geträumt hat: einen wundervollen, gutaussehenden Ehemann, eine reizende kleine Tochter, einen Traumjob, einen pikanten Seitensprung und dann noch den heißersehnten Fernsehpreis. Nur dumm, dass sie keine Zeit hat, das alles zu geniessen, denn nach der Preisverleihung wird sie beim Luftschnappen auf dem Hoteldach ausgerechnet von den Trümmern einer Raumstation erschlagen.
Nach ihrem Tod erscheint ihr Buddha und teilt ihr mit, dass sie zu Lebzeiten sehr viel schlechtes Karma gesammelt hat. Zur Strafe wird Kim als Ameise wiedergeboren und ist Teil einer riesigen Ameisenkollonie. Dort trifft sie den ebenfalls als Ameise wiedergeborenen Casanova. Gemeinsam beissen sie sich durch und versuchen, durch gute Taten ihren Karmahaushalt zu verbessern und der Familie der Moderatorin wieder näher zu kommen – in der einen oder anderen Gestalt. Denn Kim entdeckt irgendwann, dass ihre Familie ihr doch das Wichtigste war und sie diese als berufstätige Frau und Mutter sträflich vernachlässigt hat.
Die Story ist wirklich unglaublich unterhaltsam geschrieben, es folgt ein komischer Knaller auf den nächsten. David Safier hat mit seinem Roman eine schräge Idee sehr witzig verpackt. Bis auf das Ende, das war mir persönlich doch etwas zu kitschig, aber ansonsten ist der Roman absolut empfehlenswert.
Den Titel bekommt ihr seit Dezember als ePub-Ebook (für 8,99 Euro). Erschienen ist der Titel zuerst im März 2007 bei Kindler.
