Die Protagonistin Constanze ist Anfang 30, attraktiv und dazu noch frisch geschieden. Denn als sie mit ihren Kindern aus dem Urlaub zurückkommt, eröffnet ihr der Ex-Mann, dass er sich scheiden lassen möchte und schiebt die Familie kurzerhand in das Haus seiner verstorbenen Mutter ab. So findet sich die chaotische Constanze mit ihren beiden Kindern in einer typischen Vorstadtsiedlung wieder, genannt die “Insektensiedlung”. Doch scheinbar leben in diesem Stadtteil nur Vorzeigefamilien mit perfekten Müttern und perfekten Kindern, für die sich alles nur noch um ihre Kinder und eine optimale Förderung des Nachwuchses dreht. Doch wie sich bald herausstellt, ist dieser Nachwuchs hinter der Fassade doch gar nicht so wohlgeraten und die Familien sind gar nicht so perfekt wie sie scheinen. Constanze findet sich mitten in einem Verwirrspiel aus Konkurrenz und Intrigen wieder, und findet es eines Tages doch nicht mehr so erstrebenswert, Mitglied dieser tollen Vorstadtgemeinschaft zu sein. Hilfe bei ihrem neuen Leben erhält sie vor allem von zwei sehr guten Freundinnen, die immer für sie da sind und mit denen sie bald einen eigenen “Verein” gründet: die Mütter-Mafia. Ach, und nicht zu vergessen, auch ein neuer Mann tritt in Constanzes Leben: der “Jaguar-Mann”, mit bürgerlichem Namen Anton. Nachdem die ersten Begegnungen zwischen den beiden eher katastrophal verlaufen sind, kommt es auch hier zu einem Happy End.
Kerstin Gier hat mit dem ersten Teil ihrer Reihe über Constanze und ihr chaotisches Leben tatsächlich einen Roman mit Lachgarantie geschrieben! Die Situationskomik in Mütter-Mafia ist einfach umwerfend. Es tut gut zu sehen, dass kleine Macken und Fehler zum Leben mit Kindern dazu gehören und Perfektionismus hier in die falsche Richtung losgehen kann. Mütter-Mafia ist eine sehr schöne Aufmunterung für zwischendurch, vor allem für uns Frauen, wenn mal wieder nicht alles nach Plan läuft – mit viel Humor, Tempo und Gefühl geschrieben!
