Die Schafe rächen ihren Schäfer
Ein Schafshirte und seine Schafe haben eine ganz eigenwillige Beziehung. Sie folgen ihm, der einen Person, der hunderte Wesen nachlaufen. Natürlich hat er seine Hunde, die bei abtrünnigen Wollpelzen mal kurz in die Wade zwicken, aber alles in allem gehorchen sie ihrem Führer. Für die Autorin Leonie Swann scheint diese ganz besondere Beziehung genug Stoff für einen Roman geboten zu haben. So fasziniert von den Schafen und ihrem Meister schrieb sie 2005 einen Krimi, der ein bis dahin unbekanntes Feld betritt.
„Glennkill“ beginnt ganz nach seinem Namen mit dem Tod des Hirten Goerge Glenn, der auf der Wiese liegend von seiner Herde entdeckt wird. Aus seiner Brust ragt ein Spaten, aus den Augen der Schafe Tränen. Fest entschlossen, den Mörder ihres Meisters zu finden, analysieren sie die Situation und begeben sich nach und nach auf die Suche nach dem Täter. Ein allzu großes Problem ist das nicht, denn Glenn hat über Jahre hinweg aus Kriminalromanen vorgelesen, die Schafe sind also bestens geschult. Die Tiere sind im kompletten Werk die Hauptprotagonisten, die lediglich von einigen Bewohnern des Dorfes flankiert werden. In den Reihen der Menschen stoßen sie schließlich auch auf den Täter, was nicht zuletzt den besonderen Fähigkeiten ihres Anführers, einem besonders intelligenten Schaf zu verdanken ist. Treten sie ein in die Welt der Schafe, Sie werden auf lustige Art und Weise selbst zu einem.
