Christine (46), die Hauptakteurin des Romans, steht voller Vorfreude am Bahnhof auf Sylt und freut sich auf ein paar schöne Tage mit ihrem Liebsten, Johann. Nachdem die erste Begegnung zwischen Johann und Christines Vater gründlich schiefgelaufen ist, möchten die beiden nun einen Neuanfang mit der Familie im Haus von Christines Eltern auf Sylt wagen. Doch bereits bei Johanns Ankunft wird es schwierig, denn plötzlich steht Tante Inge – mit rotem Hut und jeder Menge Gepäck – ebenfalls am Bahnsteig. Und begrüsst Johann auf nicht gerade charmante Art. Was hat sie bloss vor? Für Papa Heinz ist die Situation klar: Inge, Mitte 60, möchte ihren ebenfalls in die Jahre gekommenen Mann Walter verlassen. Zudem hat sie eine neue Freundin, Renate, die mit ihrem Faible für ältere Männer so gar nicht in das Weltbild von Christines Eltern passt. Da hilft nur eins: Onkel Walter muss her!
Christine hingegen macht sich so ihre Gedanken über den Mut ihrer Tante, mit über 60 Jahren einen Neuanfang zu wagen.
Eine hinreissende Urlaubslektüre (vornehmlich für Frauen) ist auch der vierte Teil Tante Inge haut ab von Dora Heldts Reihe (Ausgeliebt, Unzertrennlich, Urlaub mit Papa, 2007 – 2009, alle bei DTV erschienen). Man sollte keine intellektuellen Höhenflüge erwarten, aber für einen gemütlichen Tag im Strandkorb ist das lustige Buch um die turbulente Familie von Christine genau das Richtige!
