Georgie gilt somit bald als der Prototyp der verlassenen Frau, der Inbegriff von Liebeskummer in seiner ausgeprägtesten Art. Doch eines Tages, nach einer langen Nacht in Las Vegas, findet sich Georgie plötzlich verheiratet wieder – mit Bram, ihrer ersten grossen Liebe sowie ihrem Erzfeind. Um den Schaden in Grenzen zu halten, beschliessen die beiden, eine Scheinehe einzugehen. Es folgt eine turbulente Zeit zwischen den beiden, in der sich am Ende zeigt, ob Bad Boy Bram sich nicht doch – entgegen aller Erwartungen – als der Traummann entpuppt, den Georgie sich gewünscht hat.
Susan Elizabeth Phillips´ Schreibstil ist hinreissend, komisch und wortgewandt. Aus Versehen verliebt ist einfach ein Buch zum Schmökern, amüsant, unterhaltsam und seeehr lustig.
