Die Hauptdarsteller dieses Romans sind Emmi Rothner und Leo Leike. Alle sieben Wellen ist eine ungewöhnliche Liebesgeschichte, denn die beiden haben sich im ersten Roman Gut gegen Nordwind durch einen Zufall im Internet kennengelernt und sich – ohne sich einmal gesehen zu haben – nur über Emailkontakt ineinander verliebt. Leo ist daraufhin nach Boston abgetaucht, Emmi kümmerte sich um ihre Eheprobleme und versucht verzweifelt, wieder zu Leo Kontakt aufzunehmen. Bis tatsächlich eines Tages wieder eine Mail von Leo eintrifft:
Betreff: Zurück aus Boston
Liebe Emmi, dein Gespür ist verblüffend. Ich bin seit nicht einmal einer Woche wieder im Lande. Was also den Strom betrifft: den verbrauche ich selbst. Emmi, ich wünsche dir, ach, was wünsche ich dir nach so langer Zeit? Klingt wohl alles ziemlich banal. Am besten, wenn auch fünf Monate verfrüht: Frohe Weihnachten und ein gutes neues Jahr. Ich hoffe, es geht dir gut, mindestens zweimal so gut wie mir. Adieu. Leo. (aus Alle sieben Wellen)
Und so kommt der Email-Verkehr der beiden wieder ins Rollen, obwohl beide noch anderweitig gebunden sind, und natürlich kommt man sich dabei auch wieder näher – zumindest schriftlich und emotional. Und es kommt nun tatsächlich auch zu einem Treffen, mit ungeahnten Folgen….
Zugegeben, das Buch bzw. der Schreibstil ist etwas ungewöhnlich, denn man verfolgt praktisch den Email-Verkehr zweier Menschen. Das macht das Lesen manchmal etwas mühsam, aber verleiht dem Ganzen doch auch sehr viel Witz und Spannung. Man frägt sich permanent, ob so etwas denn gut gehen kann, ob es so eine Geschichte denn tatsächlich geben kann. Insofern hat diese Liebesgeschichte von Daniel Glattauer auch etwas wirklich Bezauberndes! Und er schaffte es auch mit dem zweiten Teil nach Gut gegen Nordwind wieder in die Bestseller-Listen.
Alle sieben Wellen ist erschienen im Februar 2009 bei Deuticke/Zsolnay und ist auch als eBook sowie als Hörbuch zu haben. Hier schonmal eine Leseprobe.
