Die deutsche Romanautorin Susanne Fröhlich ist hauptberuflich als Journalistin für den Hessischen Rundfunk tätig. Nach einem abgebrochenen Jurastudium und einem Volontariat begann sie im Jahr 1984 beim Hessischen Rundfunk (Hörfunk), wo sie viele Jahre die Sendung Ausgehspiel in hr3 moderierte. Es folgten auch Fernsehsendungen wie Allein oder Fröhlich.
Mittlerweile hat Susanne Fröhlich mehrere sehr erfolgreiche Bücher geschrieben, die sich in erster Linie an Frauen richten. Der erste Roman Frisch gepresst (erschienen 1998, Eichborn) erzählt von Frau Schnidt, die gerade ein Kind erwartet. Die Serie um Andrea Schnidt beinhaltet ausserdem die Romane Frisch gemacht, Familienpackung, Treuepunkte und Lieblingstücke. Ihr bisher erfolgreichstes Werk heisst Moppel-Ich (erschienen 2004, Fischer), worin Fröhlich sich mit viel Humor mit dem Thema “Kampf mit den Pfunden” auseinandersetzt. Das Buch stürmte die Bestsellerlisten und diente auch als Vorlage für einen Fernsehfilm.
Die Autorin Susanne Fröhlich lebt mit dem Moderator Gert Scobel zusammen, die beiden haben zwei Kinder. Fröhlichs Werke sind auch als Hörbuch sowie teilweise als eBook erhältlich.
