Die Bestseller-Autorin Maria Beaumont wurde auf Zypern geboren, ihre Eltern sind Griechen. Heute lebt sie mit ihrer Familie (ihr Mann Matt Beaumont ist ebenfalls Schriftsteller) in einem noblen Vorort von London. Bereits als Jugendliche hat sie sich mehr für die Kunst als für die Schule interessiert. Sie liebte das Tanzen, nahm später Unterricht in den Pineapple Dance Studios in London und war im Anschluss mehrere Jahre als Tanzlehrerin tätig. Auch eine Anstellung bei der renommierten Werbeagentur Saatchi & Saatchi gehört zu ihrem Lebenslauf.
Als sie ihren Mann Matt heiratete, war dieser bereits als Autor tätig. Maria beschloss, es ihm nachzutun. Inwischen arbeitet sie an ihrem sechsten Roman. Zu ihren Bestseller-Werken gehören Marsha Mellow & ich (2005 bei Lübbe, OT: Marsha Mellow and me), Extra scha(r)f (2006 bei Lübbe, OT: MissFit) oder Veni, Vidi, Gucci (2007 bei Lübbe). Ihr neuestes Werk Nullnummern (2009 bei Lübbe, OT: Rubbish Boyfriends) erklimmt gerade die Bestseller-Listen. Darin erzählt die Hauptdarstellerin, Mitte 20, sehr erfrischend und humorvoll ihre bisherigen Erfahrungen mit dem anderen Geschlecht – während sie gerade in den Wehen liegt. Das Genre ist recht eindeutig: Maria schreibt Bücher für Frauen, unterhaltsam und amüsant (natürlich sollen sich interessierte Männer nicht ausgeschlossen fühlen, man(n) sieht die Dinge dann vielleicht aus einem anderen Blickwinkel…).
Maria Beaumonts Werke sind auf den gängigen Plattformen (leider nur) zum Teil als eBook erhältlich.
