Die Roman-Autorin Dora Heldt wurde auf Sylt geboren und lebt in Hamburg. In Bonn machte sie eine Buchhändlerlehre und ist heute als Verlagsvertreterin tätig, d.h. ihr gesamtes berufliches Leben hat Dora Heldt auf die ein oder andere Art mit Büchern verbracht.
Bekannt wurde sie durch ihre Romanserie über Christine, 46, ebenfalls Verlagsvertreterin und ihre mehr oder weniger chaotische Familie. Zu der Serie gehören die Werke Unzertrennlich, Ausgeliebt, Urlaub mit Papa und ihr neuestes Buch, Tante Inge haut ab (alle bei DTV, z.Tl. auch als Hörspiel und eBook erhältlich). Mit Urlaub mit Papa landete sie 2008 zum ersten Mal in den Bestsellerlisten.
