Cecelia Ahern ist eine irische Schriftstellerin und zudem die Tochter des früheren irischen Ministerpräsidenten Bertie Ahern.
Ahern studierte Journalismus und Medienkommunikation in Dublin. Ihr Debütroman P.S. Ich liebe Dich erschien 2004 und hielt sich wochenlang in den Bestsellerlisten. Das Buch wurde unter dem gleichen Namen verfilmt von Warner Brothers.
Ihr zweites Buch Für immer vielleicht erschien ein Jahr später und führte ebenfalls wochenlang die Bestsellerlisten an. Seitdem hat die Autorin noch sechs weitere erfolgreiche Romane veröffenticht, darunter auch Ich hab dich im Gefühl (vor kurzem erschienen als eBook).
Ahern hat die Serie “Samantha Who?” (mit Christina Applegate) mitkonzipiert, ist somit seit 2007 auch im Fernsehgeschäft tätig. Die Serie lief in den USA auf ABC und seit 2008 auch in Deutschland auf ProSieben. Mitte diesen Jahres wurde die Produktion wieder eingestellt.
